Bethany K Chavez, AA, CD, CPPS, CPLC, EBBirth Instructor

Aloha! My nameʻs Bethany as in Bethany Birth Services. Iʻm a wife, mom to a toddler and 2 fur babies, and certified holistic doula and traditional birth-keeper.

Iʻm honored to serve my community and offer services such as in-home postpartum support, placenta encapsulation, and evidence-based childbirth education.

My passion for birth work started at a young age as I witnessed my dog give birth on our bathroom floor. Since then and the birth of my nephew, I knew this was what I was meant to do with my life, besides becoming a mother myself.

Growing up on the islands of Hawai`i and thanks to my ohana, who always kept me rooted in my indigenous cultures; Iʻve danced hula since I was a young girl and enjoyed sports and martial arts. My native name Kāhealani, meaning heavenly voice; resonates with this sacred calling. Birth work means to me, that I would be able to break generational patterns and chains on civil rights for my people of the Pacific Islands. Birth work is so much more, itʻs sacred, and the birth and experience you desire is possible!

Doula support helps me towards my goal of becoming a midwife one day. Much of my support is ancestral-inspired and centered in tradition. I believe evidence-based care and ancestral practices can work harmoniously to revive, empower, and bring forth necessary steps to a revolutionary change.

Nothing would prepare me for the calling of being a mother! This journey of motherhood has answered every prayer and pushes me to find myself and show up the best I can! Iʻm also a proud breastfeeding and stay-at-home mom! Iʻm so grateful for my supporters and clients who are understanding and patient with me.
